51,080 HOUSEHOLDS IN THE CAPITAL TO BE GRADUALLY TRANSITIONED TO LIQUEFIED GAS HEATING
As part of efforts to improve air quality in the capital and upgrade heating solutions for ger district households, a phased transition is underway in 2026 to switch 51,080 households in 35 khoroos across five districts within the “Green Zone for Air Quality Improvement” to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) heating.
Specifically, the plan covers:
14,685 households in Khoroos 6, 8, 9, 11, 23, 28, 30, 31, 39, and 43 of Songinokhairkhan District
12,229 households in Khoroos 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, and 21 of Chingeltei District
8,483 households in Khoroos 7, 9, 10, 11, 16, 21, 22, and 23 of Bayangol District
13,655 households in Khoroos 2, 21, 27, 29, 30, and 31 of Bayanzurkh District
2,028 households in Khoroos 2, 12, and 13 of Sukhbaatar District
Households included in the plan will be eligible for a one-time free installation of an LPG heating boiler, provided that their homes have been fully insulated.
This initiative is an important part of the city’s policy to reduce air pollution, improve household living conditions, and promote healthier, safer, and more efficient heat consumption.
