GLOBAL COPPER DEMAND IS RISING, STRENGTHENING MONGOLIA’S STRATEGIC POSITION.

🇲🇳 As the global transition toward renewable energy, electric vehicles, and modernized power grids accelerates, copper is becoming increasingly important as a strategic commodity. As the use of electric technologies expands, demand for copper is rising sharply, while supply stability is emerging as a major challenge in the global market.

➡️ According to international estimates, global copper demand is projected to increase by around 40–50 percent by 2040, reaching approximately 42 million tonnes.
➡️ At the same time, risks of supply shortages are intensifying due to declining ore grades, rising extraction costs, delays in new projects, and growing challenges related to permitting and social consent.
➡️ As a result, the global market is expected to face a copper deficit of several million tonnes by the mid 2030s.

🇲🇳 In this context, beyond the Oyu Tolgoi open pit operation, the transition toward stable underground mine production is further reinforcing Mongolia’s position in the global copper market. This is creating an important foundation for enhancing the value of the country’s strategic mineral resources and increasing international investor interest.
