MAJOR HOUSING AND SATELLITE CITY PROJECTS IN THE CAPITAL ARE PROGRESSING IN STAGES

 

Major projects aimed at reducing congestion in Ulaanbaatar, redeveloping ger districts into housing areas, and expanding satellite city infrastructure are continuing in phases.

Selbe housing project

The first phase, comprising 3,818 apartment units, is planned to be commissioned in Q3 2027. The project is being developed as an integrated complex with serviced residential buildings, public facilities, and green spaces.

Bayankhoshuu housing project

Four apartment blocks with 110 units were commissioned in 2025. In addition, construction of six apartment blocks with 226 units is ongoing. Once fully implemented, the project is expected to replace 5,000–8,000 chimneys and around 500 pit latrines.

Khanyn Material housing project

Preparatory works have started, and 210 out of 213 land parcels have already been cleared. The project plans to construct and commission a total of 3,000 apartment units in two phases.

Khunnu City infrastructure

Construction is ongoing for a flood protection channel and a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 3,000 m³ per day.

UBIM is working in cooperation to support private sector participation and align investment structures with financing solutions across these projects.
