Growth continues to be led by Mongolia’s key mining export commodities. In particular:
Coal exports reached 11.1 million tons as of March, hitting a historic high and generating USD 740.4 million in revenue.
Copper concentrate exports also maintained their leading position, with 230.6 thousand tons exported in March alone, generating USD 783.5 million in revenue.
In the first quarter of 2026, Mongolia exported a total of 650.5 thousand tons of copper concentrate, generating USD 2.2 billion in revenue, which represents a 2.4-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
This export growth is expected to have a positive impact on Mongolia’s foreign currency inflows, balance of payments, and overall macroeconomic stability, while also strengthening the underlying environment for financing major development projects and programs going forward.
