INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST CORPORAL PUNISHMENT OF CHILDREN IS OBSERVED TODAY

🌍 Every year on April 30, the world observes the International Day Against Corporal Punishment of Children. The day aims to raise public awareness about children’s rights, child protection, and positive parenting while promoting every child’s right to grow up in a safe and violence free environment.

➡️ In observance of the day, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, the Governor’s Office of the Capital City, and Save the Children Mongolia are jointly sharing information and recommendations with the public regarding the harmful effects of corporal punishment and the importance of positive parenting approaches.

➡️ Corporal punishment is not a method of proper discipline. It can negatively affect a child’s mental health, physical well being, behavior, and self confidence. In contrast, listening to children, communicating with understanding, guiding positively, encouraging, and leading by example contribute positively to a child’s growth and development.

✅ 🇲🇳 UBIM supports initiatives aimed at protecting children’s rights, strengthening positive family environments, and promoting a violence-free society within the framework of the Capital City’s development policy and social responsibility initiatives.

🍀 Every child has the right to grow up in a safe, caring, and respectful environment.
