CONSTRUCTION OF 338 GREEN HOUSING UNITS CONTINUES IN THE SHARKHAD SUB CENTER
🇲🇳 As part of efforts to redevelop ger areas and expand access to affordable green housing, a total of 2,816 green housing units are planned to be built on 19.2 hectares in the Sharkhad Sub Center.
➡️ The project is being implemented with financing from the Asian Development Bank and the Green Climate Fund. It aims to reduce air, soil, and environmental pollution in ger areas by integrating housing, engineering infrastructure, education facilities, commercial and service areas, and green spaces.
✅ As part of the project, solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of the buildings, enabling renewable energy use and reducing electricity consumption by up to 20%. In addition, for the first time in Mongolia, foam glass insulation technology is being used, which is expected to improve energy efficiency and reduce heat loss.
✅ The project also introduces water saving solutions, with household faucets designed to limit water flow to no more than 6 liters per minute. In addition, 30–40% of the total project area is planned as green space, contributing to improved living conditions for residents.
🇲🇳✅ UBIM is working through the “Eco District and Affordable Green Housing Fund,” in which it holds unit rights, to ensure the financing preparation and implementation of the second phase of the 4,200-unit housing project under the “Ulaanbaatar Affordable Green Housing and Resilient Urban Renewal” sub project.
