SUBCOMMITTEE WORKING GROUPS ESTABLISHED AS PART OF COP17 PREPARATIONS

🇲🇳 As part of the preparations for the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification /COP17/, to be held in Ulaanbaatar on August 17–28, 2026, a meeting of the Policy Planning and Investment Subcommittee was organized.

➡️ During the meeting, the composition of the subcommittee members was updated and approved, and the following working groups were established:

✅ Policy Planning Working Group
✅ Working Group for Mobilizing and Managing Donations and Assistance

These working groups will operate to support the preparations for COP17, improve coordination between policy planning and financing, and ensure the effective organization of investment sources.

🌍 The COP17 conference will bring together representatives from governments, the private sector, international organizations, and research institutions from 197 countries to discuss desertification, land degradation, and resilience to drought.

✅ Renewable energy solutions
✅ Green economic transition
✅ Support for regional development projects
