CAPITAL CITY EXECUTIVES’ REGULAR BRIEFING MEETING HELD
🇲🇳 The regular briefing meeting of the Capital City’s senior officials was held, during which the implementation of tasks assigned at the previous meeting, ongoing water supply and flood risk reduction projects in Ulaanbaatar, as well as the progress of procurement activities, were discussed.
✅ The implementation rate of the 15 tasks assigned by Mayor Kh. Nyambaatar at the previous briefing meeting stands at 74%.
➡️ It was also reported that six flood risk reduction projects and four water supply projects are currently being implemented in Ulaanbaatar. Going forward, the Capital City plans to implement nine water supply projects and 32 flood risk reduction projects and measures in phases.
📌 Under the “Groundwater and Flood Protection” project to be implemented in 2026–2033, the construction of 366.2 km of flood protection channels and 23 km of protective embankments is planned. The feasibility study, as well as the environmental and social impact assessment, are currently more than 90% complete.
💧 In addition, the baseline study for the “Tuul Water Complex” project, planned for implementation in 2027–2032, is also more than 90% complete. Once operational, the complex will enable a stable supply of 50 million cubic meters of water for the Capital City’s needs and provide capacity to store 50 million cubic meters of water during periods of heavy rainfall.
🇲🇳✅ During the briefing, relevant working groups were instructed to accelerate investment works in the education sector, ensure preparations for COP17, expand landscaping and green spaces, and stabilize the digitalization of permit services under the “Let’s Free Up” initiative.
