EXCHANGED VIEWS WITH THE EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK ON FINANCING FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
The Chief Executive Officer of UBIM, G. Gangamurun, Director of Operations and Compliance L. Tsolmontuya, and relevant representatives held an official meeting at the headquarters of the European Investment Bank /European Investment Bank–EIB Global/ in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The meeting was attended by Marek Mora, Vice President of the European Investment Bank; Jean-Philippe, Senior International Relations and Investment Officer; Patrick Le Goff, Senior Loan Officer; and representatives of the Bank’s team.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the European Investment Bank’s operations in Mongolia, its investments in countries outside the European Union, and opportunities for highly concessional financing.
Chief Executive Officer G. Gangamurun also presented development projects that could be implemented in Ulaanbaatar city and local areas, including solar, wind, hydropower, digital infrastructure, and other projects. She also highlighted the opportunity for UBIM to cooperate in developing financing structures and providing advisory services for projects and programs.
The parties noted that Mongolia has the potential to become a new regional hub for sustainable development and the digital economy by leveraging its abundant renewable energy resources, geographical location, and climate advantages.
The parties agreed to organize the next cooperation meeting in Ulaanbaatar.
UBIM is expanding its cooperation with international financial organizations and working to attract long term, concessional funding sources for development projects in the capital city and local areas.
