ULAANBAATAR HAS TRANSITIONED 5,000 HOUSEHOLDS TO GAS HEATING AND CONNECTED 27 BOILER FACILITIES TO CLEAN ENERGY SOURCES

🇲🇳 As part of Ulaanbaatar’s strategy to reduce air pollution, the phased transition of residential heating systems and district heat sources to cleaner energy solutions is progressing steadily.

✅ To date, 872 households in Bayangol District and 4,128 households in Chingeltei District have been connected to gas heating systems, bringing the total to 5,000 households. This transition enables residents to replace raw coal with cleaner and more environmentally sustainable heating solutions.

♻️ In parallel, 27 boiler facilities across the capital have been converted from raw coal to cleaner energy sources, including natural gas, electricity, and air source heat pump systems, improving energy efficiency while reducing environmental impacts.

➡️ During the past weekend, B. Purevdagva, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, together with Ts. Sandag-Ochir, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and representatives of relevant agencies, conducted a site visit to Chingeltei District to review the implementation progress of the gas heating transition and clean energy projects.

🇲🇳✅ UBIM supports Ulaanbaatar’s green transition by developing investment structures and financing solutions for projects that reduce air pollution, improve energy efficiency, and accelerate the deployment of sustainable urban energy infrastructure.
