UNCCD COP17 Thematic Days to Highlight Key Priorities for Sustainable Development and Investment
As part of the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 17–28 August 2026, a series of Thematic Days will spotlight priority areas for sustainable development and global cooperation.
24 August – Finance Day
Discussions will focus on climate finance, green investment, development funds, blended finance, and innovative financing solutions that support sustainable development and land restoration.
25 August – Water Day
The agenda will cover sustainable water resources management, water security, and resilient water infrastructure to strengthen climate adaptation.
26 August – Land & People Day
Key topics include land degradation neutrality, sustainable land management, community participation, and nature-based approaches to inclusive and resilient development.
27 August – Food Systems & Soil Health Day
The discussions will explore sustainable food systems, soil health, regenerative agriculture, and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
These thematic days will provide a high level platform to advance dialogue on sustainable development, green finance, infrastructure investment, and the strategic role of development funds, while fostering stronger collaboration among governments, the private sector, international financial institutions, and development partners.
UBIM supports the mobilization of long term investment for the Capital City’s strategic development projects, the advancement of sustainable financing structures, and the adoption of international best practices to strengthen investment and project implementation.
