🇲🇳 The 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) will be held in Ulaanbaatar from 17–28 August 2026. With six days remaining until the conference begins, overall preparations have reached 95% completion.

➡️ Today, B. Purevdagva, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, inspected the COP17 venue and reviewed progress on the temporary facilities, construction works, landscaping and site improvements within the Blue Zone, as well as the implementation of client-side supervision. He also instructed the relevant parties to complete the remaining works to the required quality standards within the limited timeframe.

🔹 The Blue Zone will host the plenary sessions of the Conference of the Parties, official negotiations, ministerial and high level meetings, as well as regional and committee sessions. It will serve as the main venue where participating countries discuss key issues including desertification, land degradation, drought, rangeland management and land restoration, and work toward collective decisions.

🌱 The Green Zone will host public events, exhibitions and forums showcasing innovations, projects and technological solutions.

👥 Approximately 8,000–10,000 delegates and guests from more than 100 countries are expected to participate in the conference.
