NON-BUDGETARY FINANCING PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN ENSURING ENERGY STABILIT

❄️🇲🇳 As cold weather intensifies and demand for heating and electricity rises sharply, the reliable operation and stability of the energy sector have become a strategic national security issue for Mongolia.

➡️ Technical damage at Thermal Power Plant No. 4 was promptly repaired, with maintenance work starting at 16:00 on January 20, 2026, and the plant was returned to normal operation at 09:51 on January 21, 2026.

Meanwhile, due to coal supply constraints and extreme cold conditions, the load of the Booroljuut Power Plant has temporarily decreased, and electricity restrictions are still in place, according to relevant authorities.

➡️ In this context, sector experts emphasize the urgent need for energy sector reform, diversification of energy sources, new generation capacity, energy storage solutions, increased private sector participation, and the attraction of foreign investment.

✅🇲🇳 Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management Company (UBIM) is supporting strategically important energy projects that are vital to national security and the sustainable development of the capital city by mobilizing non-budgetary financing, attracting investment, and promoting public–private partnerships.

Within this framework, UBIM is actively participating in the financing scheme of the Thermal Power Plant No. 5 (TPP-5) project.

📌 Citizens and businesses are encouraged to conserve heat and electricity during this period and to use energy responsibly and efficiently.
