WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM 2026: KEY HIGHLIGHTS
The World Economic Forum 2026 was held in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” bringing together leaders from more than 60 countries, as well as executives from major global organizations.
Key focus areas of the Forum:
New geopolitical balance – The influence of middle powers is increasing, shaping new models of multilateral cooperation.
“Blue Davos” – the water economy – 2026 was declared the “Year of Water,” with the annual economic value of water ecosystems estimated at USD 58 trillion.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Regulation, safety, and economic impact were among the most prominent topics.
Green energy – New models combining renewable energy and nuclear power, along with climate finance, were highlighted.
Davos 2026 emphasized that addressing global challenges requires new solutions in technology, water, and energy.
In line with these global trends, UBIM is working within its mandate to advance Ulaanbaatar’s urban infrastructure development, expand off budget financing, and attract innovative international financial mechanisms.
