COP17: SELECTION OF CONTRACT ADVISORY SERVICES HAS BEGUN

 

🇲🇳 From 17–28 August 2026, Ulaanbaatar will host the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The conference will bring together around 10,000 delegates from 197 countries.

🌍 This event represents a major opportunity for Mongolia in terms of economic growth, tourism, and attracting tangible green investments.

📌 Within the framework of COP17:
✔️ Approximately 7,000 temporary jobs will be created in tourism and service sectors
✔️ Foreign currency inflows and domestic economic activity will increase
✔️ Real investments will be attracted to water, afforestation, land restoration, and climate-related projects
✔️ Mongolia has set a target to attract USD 1–1.5 billion in financing

🏗 The Capital City’s COP17 Investment and Construction Agency (SOE) is initiating the procurement of contract advisory services for the selection of contractors responsible for the installation, operation, and dismantling of temporary facilities for COP17. This is a critical preparatory step to ensure the event meets international standards.

🇲🇳✅ Within the framework of COP17, UBIM is supporting cooperation in:
✔️Renewable energy
✔️Green economic transition
✔️Regional development projects

🤝 UBIM has launched this cooperation starting in August and has established a dedicated working group to advance these initiatives.
