BANK OF MONGOLIA RELEASES ITS JUNE 2026 MONETARY POLICY REPORT
🇲🇳 The Bank of Mongolia has released its June 2026 Monetary Policy Report, presenting the rationale for its monetary policy decisions, an assessment of current macroeconomic conditions, and the medium term economic outlook.
Key Highlights
✅ The Monetary Policy Committee decided to maintain the policy rate at 12.0%.
📈 Inflation has increased in recent months, primarily driven by higher prices of meat, vegetables, and fuel. However, provided that no additional supply-side price shocks materialize, inflation is expected to gradually moderate during the second half of 2026 and return to the target range from 2027 onward.
📊 Economic growth is expected to remain supported by coal exports, higher copper and gold production, and the implementation of major infrastructure and investment projects. Nevertheless, the report highlights geopolitical uncertainty, fuel price volatility, and fiscal policy developments as the key downside risks to the economic outlook.
✅ The report provides an important reference for investors, businesses, and financial market participants in assessing Mongolia’s monetary policy stance, macroeconomic prospects, and potential market risks.
