REGULAR MEETING OF THE CAPITAL CITY’S SENIOR OFFICIALS HELD
🇲🇳 The regular meeting of the Capital City’s senior officials was held with the participation of Mr. G. Gangamurun, Chief Executive Officer of UBIM.
At the beginning of the meeting, newly appointed officials of the Governor’s Office of the Capital City were introduced and encouraged to work collaboratively in advancing the Capital City’s policies and development priorities.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation progress of major urban development and investment projects, winter preparedness, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, and other priority issues. The following updates were presented:
* During the National Naadam Festival holiday, cleaning and maintenance operations were carried out across 422,510 square meters of public space. Waste, green areas, and playgrounds were cleaned, while 53 tonnes of sludge and sediment were removed.
* Under the Capital City’s Investment Program, 622 projects with a total investment value of MNT 2.2 trillion are currently under implementation. Of these, 566 projects involve construction and major renovation works, with overall implementation reaching 59 percent.
* As part of preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, a total of 12,525 classes are planned across Ulaanbaatar. Measures are being implemented to reduce classroom congestion and limit enrollment at individual schools to no more than 3,000 students. In addition, repair and renovation works at schools and kindergartens are progressing with MNT 17.7 billion in funding allocated from the Capital City and district budgets.
* Winter preparedness activities are progressing across key infrastructure sectors, including the construction of the Tuul-1 Collector, preparations within the housing and public utilities sector, flood protection embankments and drainage channels, as well as the repair and modernization of electricity, heating, water supply, and wastewater infrastructure.
* Relevant agencies were also instructed to accelerate preparations for the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (UNCCD COP17), ensure readiness for the Mayors Forum to be held during the conference, and submit their proposals for the 2027 Capital City Budget Framework within the prescribed timeframe.
