COP17 Delegate Registration Reaches 4,127 as High Level International Participation Continues to Grow

As of 28 July 2026, the number of registered participants for the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) has reached 4,127.

Compared with 2,836 registered participants reported just one week earlier, the total has increased by more than 1,000 delegates, reflecting the rapidly growing participation of governments and international organizations in COP17.

Registered participants include:

* Representatives of Parties: 1,137
* Representatives of Observer Organizations: 2,100
* High-level delegates: 112
* Other participants: 763

The high level delegation currently includes:

* Deputy Prime Minister-level representative: 1
* Minister level representatives: 66
* Vice Minister level representatives: 29
* Former Presidents: 4
* Senior representatives of United Nations agencies: 5
* Vice President level representatives from international financial institutions: 5

In addition, former Heads of State of the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Costa Rica, and the Republic of Finland have officially confirmed their participation in COP17.
