538 MEASURES DISCUSSED UNDER ULAANBAATAR’S 2027 DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 

A joint meeting of the Economic, Budget and Investment Committee, Governance and Legal Affairs Committee, and Road, Transport and Traffic Management Committee of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the Capital City discussed the Ulaanbaatar Development Plan for 2027 and related matters.

During the meeting, representatives reviewed the need, expected impact, financing requirements, and anticipated outcomes of 538 measures planned for 2027, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing initiatives that address Ulaanbaatar’s most pressing challenges.

Discussions focused on the financing, project readiness, and expected outcomes of measures in key areas, including energy, district heating, public transport, air pollution, traffic congestion, and public service capacity.

Representatives also emphasized the need to distinguish projects and measures that require city budget funding from those that can be implemented with private sector participation. They highlighted the importance of deprioritizing lower priority measures and concentrating investment and financing on projects that address the city’s most urgent needs.

UBIM is working with relevant stakeholders to develop investment and financing solutions for Ulaanbaatar’s projects and programs, aligning project needs and expected impact with financing opportunities and project readiness.

The matters discussed at the joint committee meeting were referred to the 14th Extraordinary Session of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the Capital City for a second reading.
