STRENGTHENING STARTUP ECOSYSTEM COOPERATION

 

A follow up working meeting between Ulaanbaatar and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) was held at UBIM.

Building on the previous meeting held in Seoul on September 9, the parties further discussed cooperation on the “Startup Town” initiative in Mongolia, startup growth programs, and stronger linkages between the startup ecosystems of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea.

The meeting brought together UBIM’s working group and a Korean delegation led by Ms. Yeokyung Yoon, Director of Global Expansion and Startup Ecosystem Strategist at KISED.

KISED shared Korea’s experience in supporting startups from early stage development through scaling and global market expansion, including entrepreneurship education and ecosystem networking.

The parties discussed specialized training, mentoring, business model development, and IR pitching support for Mongolian startups, as well as opportunities to connect them with KISED’s global network, Korean investors, and partner organizations.

The parties also discussed the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during KISED’s next visit to Mongolia in October and agreed to further define the key areas of cooperation.
