ULAANBAATAR’S 2027 DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVED

 

At its 14th Extraordinary Session, the Ulaanbaatar City Council deliberated on and adopted decisions concerning the city budget, development planning, land management, municipal property, and other key matters.

The session approved the Ulaanbaatar Development Plan for 2027, which includes 538 projects and measures across eight key policy areas, including human development, economy and infrastructure, green economy, urban governance, regional development, competitiveness, science, and technology.

The plan includes measures to reduce air pollution and traffic congestion, advance the “20-Minute City” concept, improve public transport and pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and progressively upgrade social and urban infrastructure.

In the education sector, 43 schools and 23 kindergartens are planned to be commissioned. In the healthcare sector, the plan aims to expand early screening and provide an additional 180,000 residents with medical examinations and diagnostic services.

Aligning the projects and measures with development needs, expected benefits, and available financing will be essential to translating Ulaanbaatar’s development priorities into measurable outcomes.
