MUNICIPALLY OWNED COMPANIES PRESENTED THEIR MANDATES, OPERATIONS AND STRATEGIC PRIORITIES

🇲🇳 Following the recent adoption of the Law on the Governance of State and Locally Owned Companies, the Ulaanbaatar City Property Relations Department organized a two day discussion to introduce the new legal framework and address key considerations for its implementation.

➡️ Participants reviewed the new provisions governing state and locally owned companies, including corporate governance, management structures, decision making authority, accountability, and oversight, as well as key considerations for integrating these requirements into their operations.

✅ On the second day, municipally owned companies and companies with municipal ownership participation presented their respective mandates, core areas of operation, ongoing activities, and strategic priorities. The session also provided an opportunity to exchange information on the specific roles and operational characteristics of each organization.

🇲🇳✅ As part of the session, Mrs. G. Gangamurun, Chief Executive Officer of UBIM, outlined the company’s key areas of activity, including its work to enhance the investment readiness of Ulaanbaatar’s projects and programs, develop financing structures and non budgetary financing solutions, and undertake investment and fund management activities.

➡️ The discussion also addressed the implementation of the new law, with a focus on strengthening governance principles, clarifying decision making authority, accountability, and oversight, and promoting greater transparency and operational efficiency across municipally owned companies.
