110 GREEN HOUSING UNITS IN THE BAYANKHUSHUU SUB-CENTER OFFICIALLY COMMISSIONED
As part of the “Ulaanbaatar Green Affordable Housing” project, the first 110 green housing units constructed in the Bayankhushuu sub-center were officially inaugurated on November 29.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister G. Zandanshatar, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh. Nyambaatar, and representatives of relevant government and project partner organizations.
Key features of the project:
✔️ Energy-efficient design with minimal heat loss
✔️ Pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly environment with green public spaces
✔️ Certified under the international EDGE Green Building Standard
✔️ A model development within the 20-Minute City policy, supporting polycentric urban growth
In total, the project envisions the construction of 5,000 green housing units within an eco-district, with the first 110 units now operational.
The Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management Securities Company (UBIM) is financing Component II of the project—4,200 green housing units—through the “Eco-District and Income-Based Green Housing Fund.”
Sub-center allocation:
• Bayankhushuu Sub-center: 2,354 units
• Sharkhad Sub-center: 1,846 units
These sub-centers are planned at a residential density of 370–462 persons per hectare, aiming to significantly improve living conditions while reducing traffic congestion and air pollution.
UBIM continues to work toward introducing an inclusive, affordable, and environmentally sustainable housing model for Ulaanbaatar through optimized financing and investment solutions.
