The Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Kh. Nyambaatar, and G. Gangamurun, Chief Executive Officer of Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management JSC, met with a delegation led by Matilda Dimovska, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), within the framework of the project “Supporting the Transition to Renewable Energy in Ger Areas.”

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on solar-powered heating system projects currently being implemented in Ulaanbaatar.

In 2024, solar heating systems were installed in 68 households in ger areas, and there are plans to expand the program to 500 households over the next two years. The parties also discussed the establishment of a Solar Energy Trust Fund to transition more than 5,000 households to renewable energy sources and create conditions to reduce air pollution.

In addition, opportunities for cooperation were explored in areas such as green industrial parks, waste management, the circular economy, and smart city digital solutions.
