UBIM TO CO-IMPLEMENT A PROJECT SUPPORTING THE RENEWABLE ENERGY TRANSITION IN GER DISTRICTS

🇲🇳✅ The Chief Executive Officer of “Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management JSC” (UBIM), Mrs. G.Gangamurun, met with Ms. Matilda Dimovska, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mongolia, along with other relevant representatives. During the meeting, the parties reached a mutual understanding to jointly implement the project titled “Enhancing Livelihoods through Supporting the Renewable Energy Transition in Ger Areas,” in cooperation with the Capital City Governor’s Office and the United Nations.

✅ During the meeting, the parties discussed initiating the preparation of the project’s feasibility study (technical and economic assessment) within the scope of UBIM’s mandate and functions, and agreed to implement the cooperation in a phased and structured manner.

✅ The project aims to supply households’ electricity and heating needs through renewable energy sources, enable excess energy to be fed into the central transmission grid, and ultimately establish a sustainable financial model based on carbon credits and market based mechanisms.

✅ Site assessments for the project have been conducted in the western and eastern sections of Bayankhoshuu district, and the parties have jointly identified implementation arrangements and possible options.

➡️ In addition, representatives of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNDP) are scheduled to visit Ulaanbaatar in the first quarter of 2026 to explore the next phase of project implementation and potential financing solutions through the Ulaanbaatar Green Fund.

🇲🇳✅ Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management JSC (UBIM) continues to support the Capital City’s green transition and energy reform by developing market-oriented, long-term, and sustainable financing solutions.
