PRE-QUALIFICATION LAUNCHED FOR THE 90 MW ENERGY STORAGE PROJECT IN “HUNNU CITY”
With the aim of reducing congestion in Ulaanbaatar and developing a new economic growth hub, a 90 MW self-charging battery energy storage project will be implemented under the infrastructure development of Hunnu City, established pursuant to Resolution No. 76 of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, through a Public–Private Partnership model.
In accordance with Annex 2 of Government Resolution No. 210, the project will be implemented under the Design–Build–Operate–Transfer (DBOT) scheme. The pre-qualification stage for selecting a private sector partner was publicly announced from December 26, 2025 to January 5, 2026 (16:00), during which six companies submitted their applications.
Pre-qualification documents have been distributed to the participating entities, and proposals are to be submitted by February 5, 2026 at 16:00. Subsequent stages of the selection process will be conducted in accordance with the Law on Public–Private Partnership.
