“ULANBAATAR INVESTMENT AND MANAGEMENT JSC” KHUNNU CITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The team of Ulaanbaatar Investment and Management JSC held a meeting with B. Gunbold, CEO of the Khunnu City Development Corporation, and representatives of the Khunnu City Governor’s Office.

During the meeting, M. Batbayar, the authorized representative responsible for urban construction and development and the implementing authority for Khunnu City, presented the city’s long-term development policy and objectives. These included the overall urban master plan, population growth outlook, infrastructure, transport and logistics, the economic free zone, and the vision of developing Khunnu City into an international hub for finance, trade, and services.

It was emphasized that Khunnu City is planned to be developed as an economic free zone, a tourism destination, a convention and exhibition complex, an international financial center, and a key regional transport and logistics hub.

In addition, the strategic importance of implementing dry ports, railways, and intermodal cargo transshipment facilities was highlighted, noting their role in accelerating goods turnover and reducing unit costs. The vision of developing Khunnu City as a next-generation city featuring a student town, concentrated research and innovation zones, and a smart, green, and sustainable development model was also presented.

Within the framework of the meeting, UBIM introduced its activities and potential contributions in urban development, infrastructure, transport and logistics, investment structuring, and financing models. The parties reached a principled agreement to cooperate on the development projects of Khunnu City.
