MONGOLIA’S PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL BOND MARKET
Mongolia has implemented a policy of attracting external financing by issuing bonds in the international capital markets. Government bonds issued by Mongolia are actively traded in global and Asian financial markets.
At present, the total outstanding volume of Mongolia’s sovereign bonds in the international market has reached approximately USD 5.6 billion, reflecting the continued participation and confidence of international investors.
Participation in the international bond market plays a significant role in optimizing the structure of external debt, creating refinancing opportunities, and supporting macroeconomic stability.
Mongolia has issued several major sovereign bonds in international markets, including:
“Chinggis” Bond – 2012
“Mazalai” Bond – 2016
“Khuraldai” Bond – 2017
“Gerege” Bond – 2017
“Nomad” Bond – 2019
“Century” Bond – 2023
These bonds have played an important role in supporting economic development, infrastructure financing, budgetary needs, and the refinancing of external debt obligations.
