As part of implementing major infrastructure and mega projects in Ulaanbaatar, the city plans to carry out land acquisition covering 4,729 hectares, equivalent to 20,218 land parcels, in 2026.
Of this, 4,216 land parcels across 41 new locations will be newly acquired to enable the implementation of key engineering infrastructure projects, including roads, tram lines, underpasses, bridges, heating pipelines, substations, and flood protection facilities.
Within the framework of mega projects:
First Ring Road – 3,029 land parcels
Ulaanbaatar Metro – 90 land parcels
Tuul Expressway – 112 land parcels
CHP-5 (Thermal Power Plant No.5) – 6 land parcels in 2026
Land acquisition activities are also continuing in sub-centers such as Bayankhoshuu, Dambadarjaa, Sharkhad, and Selbe, as well as within projects related to ger area redevelopment, social infrastructure facilities, roads, and engineering utility networks.
The UBIM is working to support the sustainable implementation of the city’s major development projects by studying financing solutions and potential investment mechanisms required for these initiatives.
