CONSTRUCTION OF THE “TUUL EXPRESSWAY” PROJECT HAS OFFICIALLY COMMENCED
The construction of the “Tuul Expressway” project, aimed at expanding Ulaanbaatar’s road network and reducing traffic congestion, has officially begun.
The expressway will extend from Bayanzurkh Toll Gate on the Ulaanbaatar–Nalaikh road to the "Ayuulgui Roundabout", connecting to the western provincial routes. The project will be developed as a 32 km long, six lane expressway.
During the project launch ceremony, Kh. Nyambaatar, Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, emphasized that the Tuul Expressway is one of the largest infrastructure projects currently being implemented in Ulaanbaatar. He highlighted that the project will include approximately 13 km of elevated bridge structures through the central part of the city.
Preparatory works such as construction camp setup, temporary road construction, detailed engineering design, technical condition preparation, and land clearance have already been completed. The project aims to open the main traffic section by July 10, 2027.
The project will prioritize the use of domestically produced reinforced concrete products and cement, while also engaging local companies as subcontractors during the construction phase.
