DISCUSSIONS HELD ON COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES IN ULAANBAATAR’S MEGA DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Opportunities for cooperation with an international company were discussed regarding major development projects being implemented in Ulaanbaatar aimed at reducing air and environmental pollution, easing traffic congestion, and improving citizens’ quality of life.
In this context, Mrs. L.Khosbayar, Coordinator of Projects and Programs to Accelerate Financial, Economic, and Development Construction of the Capital City, together with relevant officials, received Liu Shengcheng, Deputy General Manager of China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd., along with other representatives.
During the meeting, the parties introduced major projects currently being implemented in Ulaanbaatar and exchanged views on cooperation opportunities within the framework of public private partnerships. These include:
Development of the Khunnu City satellite city
Construction of a Waste-to-Energy Plant
Construction of a Sludge Drying and Incineration Plant
Within the Khunnu City project, a 1,019 hectare integrated transport and logistics hub is planned near the Khushig Valley International Airport. Of this, 400 hectares will be dedicated to a logistics zone, consolidating Ulaanbaatar’s railway terminals into a single centralized complex. In the future, the area will be developed into a dry port with the capacity to handle up to 7 million tons of cargo annually.
In addition, projects were introduced for the construction of a waste-to-energy plant capable of processing 1,500 tons of waste per day and generating 35 MW of electricity, as well as a sludge drying and incineration facility with a capacity of 250 m³ per day.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. expressed their interest in participating in Ulaanbaatar’s development projects and affirmed their readiness to expand cooperation moving forward.
