CAPITAL CITY EXECUTIVE BRIEFING HELD

 

The regular executive briefing of Ulaanbaatar city officials was held today, focusing on the progress of land acquisition activities and the key issues currently facing implementation.

Under subcenter development and ger area redevelopment programs:

Selbe Subcenter – 2,095 of 2,206 land parcels acquired

“Khanyn Material” Area – 210 of 213

Bayanburd – 65 of 85

“Ulaanbaatar Arena” Project – 8 of 15

Overall, 2,378 out of 2,519 land parcels under ongoing projects have been successfully cleared.

Within road and engineering infrastructure projects:

Tuul Expressway – 38 land parcels acquired

Tuul-1 Collector – 51 land parcels

Narnii Road East Extension (4 km) – 132 of 165

Sukhbaatar District, 23rd Khoroo (Orgil Project) – 53 of 59 land parcels

For social infrastructure developments:

Gandan Model Street Project – 36 households relocated

Waste-to-Energy Plant – 121 of 158 land parcels

Fire and Rescue Station Project – 34 of 41 land parcels acquired

In 2026, land acquisition is planned for 8,664 land parcels across 153 projects, including:

9 redevelopment projects – 1,493 parcels

68 road and engineering infrastructure projects – 5,674 parcels

including 3,029 parcels for the Ring Road project

76 social infrastructure projects – 1,497 parcels

Key challenges include:

•Legal enforcement and budget/financing constraints

•Land and property related court disputes

•Compulsory acquisition processes

•Need to accelerate implementation

It was also emphasized that an integrated system and monitoring dashboard should be introduced to enhance transparency and efficiency of land acquisition activities.
