“SELBE 20 MINUTE CITY” – CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS CONTINUES

 

The construction of the “Selbe 20 Minute City” project, aimed at reducing urban congestion and creating an integrated, high quality living environment in Ulaanbaatar, on progressing as planned.

The project is being implemented across 158 hectares in Chingeltei District (khoroos 14 and 18) and Sukhbaatar District (khoroo 14), around the 5th, 6th, and 7th bus stops, and will deliver a comprehensive urban development with 8,575 housing units.

Currently, construction is underway across 7 work packages, with 831 engineers and technical staff and 53 units of machinery actively operating on site.

Under the project, the first phase of 3,818 housing units is scheduled for completion in Q3 2027. In addition, 37% of the total area is planned as green space, alongside the development of schools, kindergartens, healthcare facilities, sports complexes, cultural venues, and commercial service centers.

The project is expected to create over 10,000 temporary jobs, reduce urban concentration, improve living standards, and contribute to overall economic growth.

UBIM is actively supporting the project by promoting private sector participation and aligning investment structures and financing models.
